We welcomed over 30 students back to IPS after the holidays! January was packed full of celebrations for our Honor Roll students, Terrific Kids and Positive Behavior Referrals. Please continue to support your child in their homework and communicate on a regular basis with his/her teacher. Students should be reading every night and memorizing those basic math facts. At IPS, safety is of the utmost importance; therefore, please remem-ber that students are not to be dropped off in the front of the school at any time. If you bring your child to school before the tardy bell at 9:20, please pull through our parent drop off in the back of the school. If your child arrives after 9:20, you must walk them into the office and sign them in for a tardy slip. A current year car tag must be displayed for you to pick up your child at Parent Pick Up in the afternoon. Also, we do not accept changes in dismissal over the phone. You must put the change in writing for this to be honored. Please help us remind our students that masks are required for students in grades 3-5 whenever they are walking in the classrooms, hallways, and cafeteria until they begin eating. They are also required for all students who ride the bus. It is imperative that you put your child’s name in their jackets so that they can be returned to them when they are left out on the playground. We do not have a lost and found this year due to the safety concerns of touching items of others. Let’s continue to work together to make this a positive year for our students even with all of its’ challenges. IPS continues to focus on doing what is best for every student.
